Paris Preview: 2011 Chevrolet Captiva SUV

The fourth model from Chevrolet to have its world premiere at the upcoming auto show in Paris is the all-new Captiva SUV, joining the Aveo, the Cruze hatchback and the Orlando MPV in the manufacturer’s booth. The new Captiva, scheduled for launch in Europe next spring, will come with a new front end design, a range of interior enhancement, as well as new engines and transmissions.

Exterior design modifications include a remodeled bonnet, a new larger grille and the Chevrolet 'bow-tie' in the middle, prism style headlamps and integrated LED turn signals on the outside rearview mirrors. Rounding off the look are the new body color options and the 17-19 inches wheels.

Interior highlight of the new Captiva is its adaptable, theatre-style seating in three rows which can accommodate up to seven passengers. Other features include an ice-blue back lighting and a 'wrap-round'
design of the front fascia which flows into the front driver's and passenger doors creating the dual-cockpit look.

In terms of performance, the 2011 Captiva will come as standard with a new manual or automatic six-speed transmission. The new engine line-up is comprised of one petrol engine (171 hp 2.4-liter) and two turbo-diesel variants (163 or 184 hp 2.2-liter). Standard safety features include ESC, TCS, BAS, and front-, side- and curtain airbags.

The new Captiva features Hill Start Assist and an electric park brake that opens up space for further storage in the center console, including two 1-liter cup holders.
