What do you get when you take one part Jaguar XK, heat shrink it, ad an aluminum chassis and mix it all together in a modern, form fitting design? You get Jaguar’s latest and greatest sport, the F-Type, a successor to the famous E-Type from 50 years ago.
We’ve already brought you full details about this new play toy a little while ago, so by now you should already know it comes with three powertrains, a 340 hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6, or one with 380 hp, plus the ultra-powerful F-Type V8 S with 495 hp and peak torque of 461 lb-ft (625 Nm).
If you think that’s less power than in the XKR, just check out the engine bay in the photo gallery below. It’s simply stuffed with motor with not an inch to spare.
Jaguar promises this will be a very emotional car to drive, and it will make you feel at one with the beast in the “one plus one” cabin, which cocoons the driver in his own bubble of fun.
Speaking of fun, the most fun you can have trying to get to 100 km/h (62 mph) is in the F-Type V8 S, which gets there in 4.2 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
If you already want one, know that deliveries in Britain are scheduled for May next year. It will take another year and a half before they bring out the coupe.
