Just a week ago, GM's European arm said it will present a special edition of the quirky Opel Mokka. Although pictures of the thing weren't provided at that time, now we know how the B-segment model looks like. And here's a spoiler alert: it's sooo orange.
It's so orange it looks like a fruit or something or some kind of concept car, which it is. As the manufacturer tells, the Opel Mokka Moscow is a car that pays tribute to Russia's capital city. But that still doesn't explain why it's so orange. One explanation would be that orange is the 4th most popular car color in Russia after black, white and brown.
The subcompact crossover in Moscow Edition clothes boasts with, get this - "unique styling inside and out." Well, apart from those orange fog light bezels and two-tone silver-and-orange five-spoke alloy wheels, does it really look anything unique to you in terms of exterior aesthetics? The inside is no different: you get some nice seats and some orange plastic on the dashboard. So yeah, it does look out of the ordinary, but it's not as "unique" as Opel says it is.
No word on what's hiding under the hood of the Opel Mokka Moscow Edition design study, but due to the automatic gearbox lever, we think there's a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 138 ponies and 200 Nm of torque on tap. Mind you, if you want similar oomph, a flappy paddle dual-clutch gearbox and more options in terms of customization, the Renault Captur 1.2 TCE EDC6 Dynamique is the car for you.
