Last year’s Paris Motor Show brought a new member to the Opel range, the Adam city car. It seems that the vehicle quickly grabbed the attention of the public, as the carmaker has already received 20,000 orders for the model.
The automotive producer opened the order books in October 2012, with the majority of the aforementioned orders being placed before the vehicle actually arrived on the market in January 2013.
The Adam targets the premium city vehicle market and is going up against models such as the the Fiat 500 or the MINI. Since it’s arrived pretty late to this party, the German is aiming to beat its competitors at their own personalization game, one that’s very popular in the segment.
To be more specific, the Opel Adam allows customers to choose between no less than 61,000 exterior and 82,000 cabin styling combinations. The vehicle’s engine range is comprised of a 70 hp 1.2-liter and two power versions of a 1.4-liter unit, which offer 87 and 100 hp, respectively. The Adam is part of an Opel product offensive which will see the company introduce 23 new vehicles and 13 new engine by 2016.
