Though he's not quite happy when compared to nine time world champion Sebastien Loeb, Volkswagen's Sebastien Ogier is on his way to becoming the new "Grand Poobah" of WRC.
The French driver had no rival in last weekend's Rally Mexico, managing to finish the event in 4 hours, 30 minutes and 27 seconds, more than three minutes faster than second placed Mikko Hirvonen.
Sebastien Ogier won no less than 15 out of the 23 Mexican stages and grabbed the Power Stange three-point bonus as well. This means the French is now leading the standings by 31 points, with Sebastien Loeb in second position, although the Citroen driver didn't start in the Rally Mexico.
Citroen continues to lead the Manufacturers Championship table with 87 points, while Volkswagen trails with 81, falling behind four points the French automaker after this weekend's race.
The next 2013 World Rally Championship event will take place in Portugal, from April 11 to April 14.
