Nurburgring's Adenauer Forst, The Corner that Makes Cars Fly

The Green Hell received its nickname by swallowing tons of cars and drivers whole, but, thankfully, not all corners on the infamous German track try to lure you into hitting the guardrail at triple-digit speeds.
There are also milder sections, such as Adenauer Forst, which will cause smaller damage when approached incorrectly, but manage to put on quite a show. Translated into Adenauer Forest, this is an S-type section, whose main corner is the left-hander in the middle.

As many bends on the Nurburgring, Adenauer Forst is the kind that will, most likely, catch you out if you don't know the layout of the circuit by heart. As a result, many drivers end up noticing the corner too late.

The entry speed values various cars can develop before this twist aren't the kind that will total your car, but, if you've followed the scenario mentioned above, you'll probably end up using the vibrator on the outside the corner as a trampoline - the Renault Clio RS in the screenshot above is a pretty good example of this.

A little offroading session should follow, but if your car's ground clearance limited the damage done by the accidental encounter with that vibrator, everything should be in check.

Basically, most drivers who notice this bend too late end up braking desperately, then release the brake pedal as they prepare for the jump and finish the unfortunate adventure by performing the... drive of shame over the grass, before returning to the track.

In fact, we've brought along a Nurburgring compilation that will give you a complete idea of how Adenauer Forst can bite you. Nevertheless, if you know your way around the Nordschleife, this is one of those twists that allows you to briefly recharge your batteries for the truly challenging sections of the track.
