Although deeply troubled, 2020 has been a great year for automotive enthusiasts in America. A trio of models has been among the most coveted: Ford’s reinvented Bronco SUV, the fourteenth generation of the almighty F-150, and Chevy’s remastered C8 Corvette.
These are some of the highlights for the year, and we could easily place them on a pedestal – the order isn’t important, because there’s virtually something for everyone. And dare we say, all three of them would look great in anyone’s garage.
Well, let’s not dwell on (yet) impossible dreams since the Bronco is not going to be out and about until summer. We’re also going to take a break from talking about the highlight of the 2021 F-150 (the Powerboost Hybrid, of course) because carbon fiber elements always go best in the same sentence with a sports car, not a pickup truck.
Aftermarket specialist Nowicki Autosport has decided to provide assistance to all aftermarket fans in dire need of more carbon fiber. And it's doing it while specifically targeting the popular C8 Chevy Corvette niche, with the introduction of the Concept8 carbon fiber engine cover.
The aftermarket element is available in two versions (with or without Concept8 branding), both listed for the same price of $795. It adds a new and stylish option to the company’s expanding range of C8 Corvette accessories, which also includes a three-pack of Stingray-inspired carbon fiber insignia for the deck lid and doors.
Granted, the carbon fiber engine cover doesn’t add any extra power like the ProCharger one we recently saw teased, but Nowicki’s design accessory does feature an easy installation. It will directly replace the original engine cover via the OEM’s fasteners, making it an easy case of do-it-yourself.
According to the company, it has been developed from “OE-grade lightweight 3K twill carbon fiber and vinyl-ester-infused resin, (so) the Nowicki C8 engine cover features exceptional strength and appearance characteristics.”
The latter might have to do with the claim that we’re dealing with the “only manufacturer offering a clearcoat tint that matches the OE carbon fiber components,” so fans can be sure their new accessory doesn’t look out of place alongside factory components.
