With the Toyota GT 86 Open (and Scion FR-S convertible implicitly) being postponed indefinitely and the tC getting its facelift, we’ll have to stick around with the same models for the next three years.
Speaking with Edmunds, Toyota Motor Sales vice president Paul Holdrige said that Scion won’t come up with any new models until at least 2016.
"It has been a very difficult four- or five-year span in the auto industry and you've got to place your financial assets where you are going to get your best return," he said. "Decisions were made that it wasn't going to be Scion, so that is where we are."
Holdrige also said that there are at least two new vehicles being developed for the brand, but until they will be ready, Scion fans will receive only limited or minor restyled models with possible trim variations.
