With a little more than a week left until the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show opens its doors, Nissan has announced they’ll be making a “surprise unveil” on German soil. Looks like a new mystery worthy of Sherlock Holmes, but it’s really not the case...
When it comes to “surprises”, the automaker has only two options left: the X-Trail and the Rogue. And since the Rogue is set to be revealed in the United States, as Nissan told us last month, it’s clear as daylight that the X-Trail crossover SUV is the one to be showcased in Frankfurt.
Little is know about the all-new Nissan X-Trail, apart from the fact that it will be built on Renault-Nissan’s new CMF parts sharing philosophy, which is also shared with the Rogue and the Qashqai.
The new X-Trail will be joined at Frankfurt by the Friend-ME concept that was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. The study was developed by Nissan Design China and showcases the company’s “next generation design language and explores the possibilities of a fully-connected, fully-interactive cabin.”
