Nissan have officially unveiled their first EV Quick Chargers in Holland and France. The first step was to literally donate 400 units, in order to accelerate the development of the local EV infrastructure.
The Direct Current Quick Chargers are capable of charging the battery of a Nissan Leaf to 80% in around 30 minutes. With the Netherlands being such a small country, surface- and population-wise, it means that the first 40 units to be installed will make the Dutch always within 30km of a charging station, no matter where they are in the country.
France is also getting 40 Quick Chargers, with the first of them being installed in the region of Alsace, chosen due to its strong commitment to EVs. This fits well into the overall plan of having thousands of charging stations by the end of the year, and tens of thousands of them by the end of 2015.
