BMW is on a roll this year – they just unleashed the powerful yet heavy all-new M5 sedan, will reportedly revive the 6 Series, and have presented many more new or updated cars and SUVs.
The 2025 BMW Z4 has added a six-speed manual transmission as the biggest update for the new model year – but it's only available on the Z4 M40i trim and costs an extra $3,500 over the automatic as part of the Handschalter package that also brings other perks.

The 2025 BMW X5 gets a 25th Anniversary special edition to celebrate a quarter of a century for the nameplate with an off-road-focused package. The all-new compact X3 luxury crossover SUV is slotting below it with bold new design language. If you want something 'milder,' then perhaps you should try the updated 3 Series and 4 Series or the high-performance M3 sedan and M4 coupe, which also gains the new M4 CS variant.

Last but not least, in America, there is also the mildly updated 2 Series plus M2, which comes with new exterior packages, more power for the M2, a tweaked interior, and an upgraded infotainment system. Other markets are also getting the all-new BMW 1 Series, and it comes with an M135 hot hatchback with 312 hp that we can't have in America, along with a quirky new design.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, so perhaps you like the new styling of the 1 Series. Don't lament its unavailability in America because there will be a way around that issue – according to the rumor mill, the next generation of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is already in the works, hard at work testing – as per the latest spy shots. Naturally, when that happens, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators also wants a piece of the action.

For example, here's Sugar Chow, the virtual artist better known as sugardesign_1 on social media, who has decided to CGI present his vision for the potential next-gen 2 Series Gran Coupe based on the spied prototypes. The F74 new generation will probably debut this fall as a more affordable alternative to the BMW 3 Series, and the Bavarians even skipped the usual Life Cycle Impulse (aka facelift) for the outgoing F44 model to make sure they can bring out the second generation as fast as possible.

Well, it's already out there in the open – albeit unofficially and merely hypothetically, although this pixel master is renowned for making his renderings seem like the real deal. They're not, so take all these POVs with a pinch of salt until BMW makes the next 2 Series Gran Coupe official. Until then, you can still have the current model with no CGI inspiration from the quirky 1 Series and M135 in America from $38,400 if you don't want to wait for the next iteration.
