What could this mysterious covered car with "New Octavia vRS world premiere at Goodwood Festival of Speed July 2013" written all over it be? We have a sneaking suspicion that it's the new Octavia vRS, which will make its official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, on July 11th.
Fortunately, we don't have to wait that long for the covers to come off because leaked photos have already emerged in bulk.
Also, the powertain for the Octavia vRS is pretty much guaranteed to be a 2.0-liter TSI engine producing 220 PS 350 Nm(258 lb-ft) of torque. This will be mated as standard to a manual but will also be available with DSG6. For the first time the Octavia vRS will also be available with all-wheel drive, and a 2.0-liter TDI diesel will be in the range, though we can't say sure if it will have 180 or 190 PS.
All in all, this looks like a very desirable car, which has moved very far from the VW Golf ancestry to be an attractive buying choice for the family man who wants to have some fun from time to time.
