MINI's redesigned Cooper 4-Door is coming to the United States of America in 2025, with the first units of the entry-level Cooper C to arrive in showrooms no later than January 2025. The more powerful and pricier Cooper S will hit dealer lots in September 2025 for the 2025 model year as well.
Codenamed F66 as opposed to F65 for the Cooper 2-Door, the larger sibling actually sports five doors including the rear liftgate. To be manufactured at the British automaker's Oxford plant in the United Kingdom, the F66 for the US market will enter production in November 2024 for the Cooper C.

Before going any further, there is a bit of a difference between the US-market Cooper C 4-Door and the global version. More specifically, the North American model features a 2.0-liter turbo rather than a 1.5-liter turbo with three cylinders.

The BMW Group-controlled firm isn't ready to announce output, pricing, and other details, which is a bit curious given that MINI did confirm $33,200 (plus $995 destination) to be the starting price of the Cooper S 4-Door. To enter production sometime during July 2025, this fellow develops 201 horses and 221 pound-feet (300 Nm) of torque, with most of those resources going to the front wheels by means of a dual-clutch tranny with seven gears.

There's no difference in maximum output numbers between it and the global version. The 1.5L three-cylinder turbo Cooper C 4-Door, on the other hand, puts out 154 horsepower and 170 pound-feet (170 Nm) of twist. MINI quotes 8.0 seconds to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour), onto a top speed of 134 miles per hour (225 kilometers per hour).

For the Cooper S 4-Door, the numbers are 6.8 seconds and 242 kilometers per hour (150 miles per hour), respectively. Not bad for a compact hatch, but on the other hand, $33,200 is five hundred bucks off the roomier and more powerful Hyundai Elantra N. At full chatter, the compact sedan belts out 276 ponies and 289 pound-feet (392 Nm).

Compared to the Cooper 2-Door, the Cooper 4-Door is 2.83 inches (72 millimeters) longer in wheelbase and 6.77 inches (172 millimeters) longer fore to aft. However, in a similar fashion to the Cooper 2-Door, the Cooper 4-Door is unmistakably MINI thanks to round headlights, short overhangs, and the unmistakable silhouette of the R50/R53.

Under the skin, this generation of the MINI rocks the front-biased platform of the BMW 1 Series five-door hatch for Europe. Said platform is also shared with the likes of the X1, X2, and the Countryman. The internal combustion range may look extremely similar to the zero-emission MINI, but said electric hatchback is underpinned by a completely different architecture developed by Spotlight Automotive.

Spot who? Essentially a joint venture between BMW Group and Great Wall Motor, said firm produces the battery-electric MINI in Zhangjiagang in Cooper E and Cooper SE flavors. Adding to the confusion, the zero-emission Countryman is twinned with the iX1 on the UKL2 architecture.
