If you want to buy the 2014 Lexus IS but the green little environmentalist elf in your head is concerned about fuel consumption, then the IS 300h will suit you both.
Although the other two petrol V6 engines in the range can’t be crowned as gas-guzzlers at 9.2 and 9.7 l/100 km, Lexus introduced a hybrid version to please even the most efficiency concerned customers without forcing them to buy a rattling diesel. The IS 300h brings fuel consumptions to 4.9 l/100 km and CO2 emissions to 113 g/km (based on the Australian cycle), while still giving you the pleasure to drive a gasoline powered car with no turbo lag nor industrial noise.

Apart from the awesome looks, the standard Lexus IS 300h comes with nice equipment a smart key entry and start system, fabric/Tahara upholstery, dual zone climate control, auto HID headlights, a 7-inch screen infotainment display and a 6-speaker quality sound system.

See the latest review from Car Advice here to find out more about the new IS 300h. They tested the car on Australian roads and found it's ideally suited for the urban environment, where it's basically twice as efficient as the big V6. While power isn't on the same level as the IS 350, you won't really get to use that track-honed V6 in between the lights.
