From January 7th on, Indian drivers will be able to purchase Honda’s fourth-gen City, as the vehicle was just launched in the country. Although the model might not bring novelties when it comes to its design, it was released with five trim levels and a choice of two engines, the 1.5-liter, i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-liter, i-DTEC diesel.
The diesel engine is brand new and puts out 100 PS and 200 Nm and is derived from the Euro-spec 1.6-liter DTEC. The petrol version is more powerful with 119 PS, but has less torque and isn't as efficient. The diesel gets a six-speed manual while the petrol only a 5-speed, but both are available with a CVT on more expensive trim levels.
Concerning it’s size, the car is actually pretty big, bigger than it’s former version, gaining more shoulder, leg and knee room. So, the B-segment vehicle has a 2.6 meters long wheelbase that will definitely be a plus for family buyers.
Indian folks that are already interested in the sedan should know that it comes at a reasonable price, varying between Rs. 7.42 lakh and Rs. 11.10 lakh (between $11,950 and $18,051) and incorporates quite a lot of equipment.Top-spec cars even get things like chrome door handles and leather upholstery, push-button start/stop switch, driver / passenger airbags and even a smart key.
