Ford unveiled the brand new Fusion midsize sedan at the Detroit Auto Show in January, featuring a sleek new shape and an Aston Martin like face. The car, just like the Fiesta and the Focus before it, was designed with global customers in mind, but we thing they were a bit to quick in revealing it.
You see, the 2013 Fusion will only be available this fall in America, and it’s even worse in Europe. Just as the Fusion was winning “Best in Show” in Detroit, Ford of Europe showed us a couple of photos of the new Mondeo, which was nearly identical.
They said it would arrive at the end of the first quarter of 2013, which was disappointing, but now it will arrive even later. According to Autonews Europe, homologation problems will result in a delay of by up to three months.
"It is caused by problems related to homologation and specification levels. We do not want to go too much into the details, because it is an internal problem," Ford Belgium spokesman Arnaud Henckaerts said. "It is not an unusual problem. April 6 was just an internal date for the production start.”
