Now that the Focus ST Mk3 has made its way onto the market, it’s time for the tuners to do their job and today we’ll show you what British ECU remap specialist Superchips has done for the hot hatch.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine of the new Focus ST, which delivers 246 bhp (248.5 ps) in standard trim, has received a new ECU map with the boost level, fueling and ignition timing being tweaked. Superchips’ Focus ST delivers an additional 51 bhp (51.5 ps) at 4.046 rpm, with a peak power premium of 31 bhp (31 ps) at 5,655 rpm.
As for the torque, the engine now offers a noticeable increase between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm, with a gain of 93 Nm (68.5 lb-ft) at 3,954 rpm, while the peak torque increase sits at 69 Nm (51 lb-ft) at 3,770 rpm.
