Caterham’s brand-new sportscar, which is developed in cooperation with Renaultsport and based on the upcoming Alpine, is rumored to be revealed in concept form in 2014.
According to Autocar, quoting company sources, the new Caterham vehicle will look significantly different than its French counterpart, although both cars will be developed the same way. "It will look British and it will be recognisable as coming from Caterham," said the source.
Aimed at the Alfa Romeo 4C and the Lotus Evora, the yet unnamed Caterham sportscar is said to have “more than 200 bhp” and a price tag of about £50,000. While the Alpine will get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Renault engine, the Caterham version will sport an in-house built powerplant.
The reveal is likely to take place after the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
