Even though we are only months away from the official reveal of the 2015 C 63 AMG W205, Mercedes-Benz is still teasing us via a number of pre-production prototypes sporting milder camouflage.
Obviously, the following spy photos are more about the car testing its chassis and less about driving around in front of spy photographers, but the fact that we get to see more skin also gives us a clue that the model is largely ready for launch.
Getting past the camo, the much wider front axle is pretty obvious in the images below, while for the first time we can actually see some decent amount of meat on the rear tires, unlike previous generations of the model.
With tires measuring just 255/35 R18 at the rear and at least 600 Nm (442 lb ft) of torque in the least powerful version, the W204 generation of the C 63 AMG was by far the most tail-happy model its segment.
While that may be fun, it also lost it a fair amount of time on the track when compared with its much less powerful competitors.
Set to sport a newly-developed four-liter V8 with twin-turbochargers, the upcoming C 63 AMG W205 is to put to good use no less than 476 hp and 650+ Nm (479+ lb ft) of torque, making it as powerful as the supercharged E 55 AMG W211.
According to most recent reports, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG W205 will be unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, with sales to start in early 2015.
