The fourth-generation Toyota Sienna is far from being an aging product. Assembly kicked off in the fall of 2020 for our market, and last year, the minivan welcomed a few styling tweaks and other updates that should keep it on the interesting side of its segment, at least for a couple of more years.
For the 2024 model year, the Toyota Sienna features darkened chrome accented headlamps on the LE and XLE, a darker look for the wheels equipping the XSE AWD and Woodland, and the Premium Package that's available on the XSE, adding additional gizmos, including heated and ventilates seats, leather upholstery, contrast stitching, a 7-inch display in the cluster, etc.

All versions of the company's people carrier feature the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 bundle, with road sign recognition, lane departure alert with lane trace assist, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system, and others. Power comes from an electrified 2.5L four-cylinder unit, which produces 245 hp (248 ps/183 kW). The model has standard front-wheel drive, but an all-wheel drive system is available as an extra.

The 2024 Toyota Sienna has been on sale in our market since last fall. Pricing starts at $37,685 for the entry-level LE, going up to at least $53,145 for the range-topping Platinum.

But will there ever be a fifth-generation Toyota Sienna? Sales-wise, it hasn’t done that well these past few years. According to Goodcarbadcar, the Japanese automaker sold 54,347 minivan units in the United States last year. In 2022, 2021, and 2020, it parted ways with 6,840, 14,782, and 42,885 copies, respectively.

Almost ten years ago, the Sienna constantly broke into the 100,000th territory, but it will probably never achieve these numbers due to the increasing demand for crossovers and SUVs. As a result, we wouldn't hold our breath for a possible next generation. However, if there's one thing we've learned, it is never say never when it comes to the car world, as Toyota might eventually replace it with a new people carrier.

The old Sienna stayed in the market for ten years, between 2010 and 2020, so Toyota still has some six years to develop a new one. One might think that since no one knows anything about a possible next-gen Sienna, the rendering crowd wouldn't want to get involved. But they'd be wrong, you see, as several pixel manipulators have already come up with different variations of the next-gen Sienna.

One of the latest is Digimods Design, which took to YouTube a few days ago to present a modern take on this vehicle. This hypothetical next-gen Toyota Sienna looks far superior to the current one in the design department, and we think the Prius-inspired face suits it like a dream. But do you think Toyota should spend a lot of money on a future Sienna, or should they retire from this class?
