Chevrolet has recently introduced the production version of the new Trailblazer SUV that appeared in concept form at last year’s Dubai International Motor Show, with the vehicle set to make its world debut next week in Thailand, at the 33rd Bangkok International Motor Show.
The carmaker hasn’t made it clear whether the body-on-frame SUV will also be offered on the US market, but it could offer Americans a pickup version.
““True to its name, the Trailblazer will blaze the trail for new Chevrolet vehicles coming into the market," said Martin Apfel, president of GM Southeast Asia and Chevrolet Sales in Thailand.
For now, the vehicle allows customers to choose between two versions of GM’s four-cylinder Duramax diesel unit. The first has a displacement of 2.5 liters and produces 150 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque (350 Nm), while the later is a 2.8-liter mill that delivers 180 hp and a peak torque of 346 lb-ft (470 Nm), if matted to an optional six-speed auto, and 324 lb-ft (440 Nm) when working with the standard five-speed manual.
The all-new Trailblazer comes with two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and can cater to the needs of up to seven passengers.
