Naomi Campbell put the catwalk life aside for a moment the other day when she spent a couple of days in Austria for an old school shopping trip. Problem is, the 44-year old supermodel probably forgot about the driving rules, as she got her chauffeur in trouble the moment he drove the Audi down a pedestrian precinct to get to the Channel store in Vienna.
It seems these celebrities can’t really stay off the camera no matter what, even if that means taking a fine. Austrian police stopped the Audi and the driver was allegedly fined for navigating his way through the no-car zone. Reports are Campbell was spending some proper girls-out time along with her friend Kathrin Glock, with whom she walked arm-in-arm as they left the luxury high-end shop.
But you can’t fight the law now, can you? Because the law always wins (or does it?). Who knows, maybe she was in a hurry, considering the day after her retail therapy, the beautiful British model wowed at Mario Testino’s 60th birthday party in London, along with the likes of best pal Kate Moss and celebs Keira Knightley, Poppy Delevigne and Rita Ora.
She had spat at the officers following an argument about her lost luggage. Campbell was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and fined £2,300 ($3,676). She was banned for life from British Airways. The following year, Campbell settled the lawsuit brought by her former maid Gaby Gibson, who claimed the model had hit her and called her names.
"I fought the law and the law won"
No problem with that, after all Vienna is a beautiful city. But you can’t fight the law now, can you? Because the law always wins (or does it?). It's far from being her first felony
On the other hand, we don’t really believe Naomi minded too much about her little incident considering she is what you’d call a veteran in the law matters. Between 1998 and 2008, Campbell was accused ten times of committing acts of violence against employees, associates, and, in one instance, police officers. In one of the recent ones, in 2008, Campbell pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers at London Heathrow Airport. She had spat at the officers following an argument about her lost luggage.
