More Ambiguity on the Chrysler Sale

You know that DaimlerChrysler wants to get rid of the black sheep of the group, the Chrysler company. There have been a lot of rumors, including that the Canadian company Magna wants a piece of the pie, and that some Russians suddenly became interested in Magna, but that's all just irrelevant now. Some official confirmation has come, and according to Daimler officials, there are talks with some serious potential partners.

This confirmation comes from Dr. Dieter Zetsche, the Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler, who states: “In this context, I can confirm that we are talking with some of the potential partners who have shown a clear interest.” Ambiguity at its finest, continuing in his next statement: “But it is also true that we need to keep all options open, and that I cannot disclose any details, because we need to have the maximum scope for maneuver.”

So far, I am satisfied with the process. Everything is going according to plan.” concluded Zetsche.

It's funny how different members of the DaimlerChrysler Board of Directors have different opinions. You might remember that not so long ago, Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Wenger and Dr. Leonhard Knoll were complaining about Chrysler and about how much damage it brings to the company. They accused the nicknames “Doting Daimler, Daimler-Crisis and Crime-ler” and stated that they want to bring back the DaimlerBenz name. To be continued...
