Oh, and how could you possibly miss that custom four-into-four exhaust system?
Back in 2009, Indonesia’s custom two-wheeler scene was delighted with the arrival of a new player on the block, namely Katros Motorcycles. Over the years, these folks stacked up on a plethora of bespoke masterpieces that’ll leave just about any moto-loving gearhead truly lost for words. For a clear demonstration of their abilities, we’ll be diving in for a quick examination of one such entity.
The bike you’re seeing here was crafted for MotoMobi – one of the nation’s most renowned YouTubers. At its core, this bad boy is a 2018 variant from Kawasaki’s Z900RS lineup, carrying a liquid-cooled inline-four behemoth within its tubular steel trellis frame. The powerplant prides itself with four valves per cylinder head and a colossal displacement of no less than 948cc.
At 8,500 rpm, the DOHC mill is perfectly capable of producing as much as 110 hp, while an unforgiving torque output of up to 73 pound-feet (99 Nm) will be accomplished at approximately 6,500 rpm. A six-speed transmission distributes the engine’s oomph to the rear wheel via a chain final drive, enabling the beast to reach a top speed of 140 mph (225 kph).
Katros’ aftermarket doctors kicked things off in the bodywork department, where they replaced the vast majority of Z900RS’ factory panels with one-off alternatives. At the front, you will spot a tiny fairing that hugs the stock headlight, joined by a pair of vented side covers on the flanks. Underneath the creature’s inline-four fiend, the team went about installing a chunky belly pan wearing a coat of gloss black paintwork.
On the other end, we find a custom tail section with integrated LEDs, as well as a two-seater saddle that does a sweet job at keeping it classy. Additionally, the original hoops were discarded to make way for a set of laced counterparts. To round it all out, a magnificent four-into-four exhaust system has been fabricated in-house, while the bodywork was enveloped in a graceful metallic gold finish.
