The good folks over at the racing-focused ImportRace channel on YouTube are not yet back at their usual venue - Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey, but still dangle in between other glorious locations.
This year, we have seen pretty much just about everything from this prolific videographer – including grandiose coverage of TX2K from Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas, great roll races from Pocono Raceway (aka the Tricky Triangle) in the Pocono Mountains in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, enticing Street Car Takeover action at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, as well as additional brawls from Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland of both the drag and roll racing variety.

From time to time, of course, the host comes back to their home territory (Island Dragway) for cool races – or suddenly remembers that he's got some remaining footage from TX2K or elsewhere. This probably happened on a couple of occasions already as not long ago; we saw a couple of fashionable muscle car rivals – one green and the other orange – duke it out for Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat versus Chevrolet Camaro glory in the best Mopar versus GM fashion.

Now, on this occasion, it's time for a switch to another classic – General Motors versus Ford. The footage embedded below was captured at TX2K in Texas and, coincidently, shows another colorful apparition or two. The first skirmish involves a blue Ford Mustang GT with black doors and a black trunk, which, curiously, duked it out with a Pontiac G8 dressed in a similar manner – the blue body was contrasted by four black doors and a black, protruding hood, this time around.

The full-size sedan is a rare occurrence at the local quarter-mile dragstrip as the model was produced by Holden in Australia as a rebadged Holden Commodore for export to the United States only for the model years 2008 and 2009. However, whenever a Pontiac G8 does show up at the track, it's bound for glory. This is exactly what happened here, too, as the two heavily modified blue monsters stormed out like experts and nailed a very close 7.4 versus 7.54s pass at 169 mph and 183 mph, respectively.

Curious to find out who won? Well, the video embedded below is only 43 seconds long, so you won't have to worry about wasting too much time to find out the surprising result. Secondly, don't go anywhere because a second, different Pontiac G8 – dressed in burgundy and black this time around – quarreled with a matching dark burgundy or maroon Ford Mustang GT.

On this occasion, one of the racers was sleeping at the start line, and the other quickly took advantage of that and shot out like a rocket – winning the race in the process with yet another close call: 7.92s versus 7.83s. Again, prepare to be amazed by these wonderfully tuned machines.
