The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is not the best of the current crop of EVs, and it is limited in many ways. Consumer Reports agrees with this, especially after having thoroughly tested the little kei car-based EV, in their characteristic fashion.
The review itself is a rather negative one, and aside from calling the i-MiEV very efficient, praise is inexistent. For starters, the car is dynamically impaired, with narrow tires, oddly-tuned suspension and a tall and narrow shape, it is not at all pleasant to drive.
The front seats are not supportive, and rear passengers will struggle with both knee and shoulder room (when three people are seated in the back) - the boot is not that big, either.
Also, with an average autonomy rating of 59 miles in real world driving conditions, the car is still a bit far from the 100 miles the manufacturer says it will do.
