Mitsubishi is one of the few automakers present on the US market to record a negative sales result in November. Sales were down 4.3%, when compared to last year’s figures. The main cause for this decline were the models which were taken out of production this year, as sales of models still in production were actually up by 16%.
The best performer, last month, was the Outlander Sport, which managed to sell 1,520 of the 3,574 monthly total - 9.5% up over last year’s figures. Other models worth mentioning are the Lancer which recorded a 16.3% increase, and the hot Evolution model, with a 9.1% improvement over November of 2011.
Mitsubishi Motors North America President and CEO, Yoichi Yokozawa said: "We are encouraged at the consistent sales performance of the Outlander Sport, our top seller in the U.S [. . .] It bodes well for our next generation 2014 Outlander, which we unveiled to the U.S. media last week." However, with models like the new Mirage (which arrives in the US in September of 2013), Mitsubishi may very well 'rise again', once it, along with the all-new Outlander.
