It is not just the Dubai Police fleet that includes super expensive vehicles. Now, the Miami Beach Police make use of a Rolls-Royce Ghost. However, the residents of Miami don't quite like it.
The arrival of the car in the fleet is the result of a sponsorship offered by a dealership that sponsors all the costs related to the project. The car is on loan to the police department and will have to be returned.

However, Miami Beach could potentially have to pay for the damage if anything happens while the luxury sedan is under their care.

"We are thrilled to introduce this stunning addition to the MBPD recruitment team, courtesy of @braman_miami!" Was the text that accompanied one of the videos uploaded by the Miami Beach PD on its Instagram account, highlighting that it is not a donation but a sponsorship project.

To be up to its new job, the Rolls-Royce Ghost received lights in the radiator grille, door sills, a light bar on the roof, and a siren. An intercommunication system has been installed on board.

However, the police faced instant backlash for every single social media post related to the luxury sedan that they temporarily added to their fleet.

"This is the most tone-deaf sponsorship," a user writes.

"Is there anything else that has been sponsored by business partners that would actually help the community?" asks Lowronin on Instagram.

Others proved they were quite furious for the arrival of the Rolls-Royce in the police fleet. "Explain to me how this is going to help you recruit? As a police officer, you don't drive this car. The only way you'll ever be able to afford this car as a police officer is to become corrupt."

Some of the users prove quite some sense of humor: "They will come arrest you with a bottle of champagne."

Champagne or not, whoever drives the Ghost must know they have a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine on their hands, linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission in an all-wheel drive setup, unlike its predecessor.

The V12 pumps out 563 horsepower (571 metric horsepower) and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton meter) of torque for an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 4.3 seconds and from 0 to 100 mph (0 to 160 kph) in 10.4 seconds. The needle of the odometer goes as far as 155 mph (250 kph).

If it is to catch and transport perpetrators, they will surely relax all the way to the police station in the comfortable rear seats with massage function and under the Starlight Headliner.

With all those luxury features on board, we totally understand why the community is furious. However, they will have to keep in mind that it is a temporary addition based on a sponsorship, with the dealership offering the luxury sedan also benefiting from the exposure provided by the Miami Beach Police.
