Unveiled late last week in a couple of renderings, the MG’s CS SUV Concept was officially confirmed for the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show scheduled later this month.
Designed to preview the company’s first SUV, the CS Concept is rumored to be an evolution of the Icon Concept which was unveiled last year in Beijing. Almost production ready, the CS should be underpinned by the MG5 platform and use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 135 HP.
MG promises that the CS Concept will “create a sensation among young, fashion conscious people” thanks to its distinctive sporty style and youthful appearance. Penned by Anthony Williams-Kenny, the MG CS “oozes British design flair while embracing the sporting DNA of MG”, the company added.
The 2013 Shanghai Auto Show is set to debut on April 20 and we’ll be right back with this intriguing SUV concept as soon as further details emerge.
