Due to pretty obvious reasons, the roads in Dubai aren’t exactly ready to face large quantities of water. This recently became obvious when a custom example of the Mercedes SLS AMG got stuck in a massive puddle after some serious rain.
The car has been spotted at one of Dubai’s Malls and people were wondering why the owner had taken it out on such a rainy day. However, on its way back, the SLS, actually a Gullstream by Fab Design, encountered the puddle you see in the adjacent image.
This reportedly led to the car being stuck in the water for one or two hours, which, of course, boosted the embarrassment factor. While the water may not look all that deep in the image, there are multiple factors that could’ve led to this.
First of all, the M159 6.2-liter V8 engine in the SLS AMG is mounted very low, so all its tech goodies, from the wiring to the air intakes, are not exactly puddle-friendly. What’s more, the SLS AMG may have... ahem... wings, but there are definitely not for flying.
