After having made its debut as a concept at the Shanghai Auto Show a few months ago, the GLA-Class crossover is making its way into production form.
Underneath the black camo you'll see in the video below is the an interesting new mix of curves. Although technically a C-segment (compact) crossover in Europe, it will look a lot different to rivals like the Ford Kuga or Kia Sportage, and that's because it's quite low. The GLA also has a sloping rear window for that sporty look.
The engine range should be the same as the A-Class. That means a base 1.6 turbo engine with 122 PS and 200 Nm of torque for the GLA 180, followed by a Renault 1.5-liter diesel for the GLA 180 CDI, a 1.8 turbo diesel with 136 PS for the GLA 200 CDI, a 156 PS turbo 1.6 for the GLA 200, 2.1-liter diesel with 170 PS for the GLA 220 CDI and finally a 2.0-liter turbo with 211 PS for the top GLA 250.
This isn't the first time the GLA has been spotted in Dubai, but as the Frankfurt debut date is getting nearer, so too is our curiosity peaking.
