The car producers like to play games with enthusiasts (and not only) by “accidentally” posting official images of unrevealed cars on their official websites for a certain period of time, raising the public’s interest for the involved vehicles.
The latest automotive Internet streaker is the Mercedes S-Klasse coupe (the car will drop the current CL-Klasse designation), with the vehicle’s pics “leaked” on the carmaker’s Dutch website.
Mercedes-Benz has not released any info about the big coupe’s upcoming facelift, but has posted two images, one showing a civilian version of the car, an one revealing the AMG package.
The vehicle’s exterior won’t bring any important changes. The S-Klasse coupe will come with a new front bumper that incorporates LED fog lights, redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lights and a grille that shows a sportier design.
However, the engine compartment will come with multiple important additions, with the changes targeting units situated at most power levels. The CL350 model will use a naturally-aspirated 3.5 liter V6 BlueDIRECT engine, which offers 306 hp and a maximum torque of 272 lb-ft (368 Nm).
The CL 500 will receive a twin-turbocharged 4.6 liter V8 BlueDirect unit that comes with 435 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque (700 Nm). The CL63 AMG will drop the current naturally aspirated 6.3 liter V8 in favor of a 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 powerplant, which delivers 541 hp and a maximum torque of 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).
The Mercedes S-Klasse Coupe will make its public debut at this year’s edition of the Paris Motor Show.
