While not necessarily bringing something new to the “extra long-wheelbase S-Class” equation, the following extra-short video is newsworthy for telling us that Mercedes-Benz is still testing that white pre-production prototype that was seen a quite a few times on the Nurburgring Nordschleife a few months ago.
Set to be unveiled in 2014 as a MY2015, the super-long S-Class is set to fill in the gap left by the now-defunct Maybach Manufaktur model lineup but with a much cheaper price.
Speaking of the Maybach nameplate, according tot he Germans from Auto Bild, the S-Class XL might resurrect it not as a brand but as a model name.
In the beginning it was reported that this S-Class with extended wheelbase and three side windows might be the new W222-based Pullman, but those rumors were soon put to rest by new ones, which are saying that the Pullman is going to be another, even longer model in the style of the old ones.
