This is probably the first GL 63 AMG video review we have seen where the reviewer has almost managed to make us turn off the volume. There aren't a lot of more annoying things in the world than someone who pauses after every single word spoken, almost like a real, human version of Apple's Siri.
Leaving our personal annoyance aside and continuing with the review itself, things don't seem to get a whole lot better, especially since the overall tone about the car is somewhat negative right from the beginning of the video.
May we remind you that the Mercedes-Benz GL 63 AMG is in an entirely different segment than the Cadillac Escalade, with whom the Cars.com editor is apparently comparing it. One is a unibody fullsize luxury SUV while the other one is a truck frame with a somewhat luxurious estate body glued on top of it.
The Cars.com reviewer doesn't seem very impressed by the M157 V8 engine under the GL 63's hood, either. We're wondering why, since it's an engine that manages to launch the humongous car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds, making it the fastest accelerating fullsize SUV on the planet.
The interior, which has been heralded by almost every other reviewer out there as being the only true seven-seater fullsize SUV currently on the market is also not too praised, but let's leave our personal impressions inside and just watch the video below.
