The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG Racing Series is a pretty important model for AMG, as it's their second Customer Racing model and about to come to a racing track near you. Until that time arrives, the Swabians have brought it at Essen with a far cleaner look.
Launched at this year's edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, the car will join the highly-successful Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, which has been used by customer teams on five continents since its introduction in 2011.
“The CLA 45 AMG Racing Series demonstrates our desire to further increase our commitment to customer motorsport. We are also seeking to offer interested customer teams a competitive, near-standard racing car with an excellent level of safety in the popular four-cylinder segment,” had said Ola Källenius at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The CLA 45 AMG Racing Series is obviously based on the street model, while the M133 engine's power output can vary according to the racing series rules in will participate in; as can the model's traction system, which can be either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive.
