Mercedes-Benz UK has announced today the sum which your bank account will have to be emptied of for you to become the proud owner of a new S63 AMG. Let's not try to sugar-coat it, this is going to sting.
Set to arrive in UK showrooms this November, the S63 AMG will stat at £119,565. That's a lot more than a BMW M6 Gran Coupe, which is under £100,000 or the Audi RS7, which is only £83,495.
Still, the S63 AMG is the most luxurious and the most powerful of the trio, powered by the biggest engine. Its hand-built 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo puts out 585 hp and 900 Nm of torque and can accelerate from rest to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.
Standard kit includes the Driving Assistance Package, Front Seat Comfort Package, Panoramic sunroof, Keyless Go Package, the mighty Burmester Surround Sound System with Six-Disc changer, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Ambient Lighting.
Still, there are plenty of ways to spend even more than the £119,565. For example, the Drivers Package (£2,760) derestricts the top speed to 186 mph and secures the customer a place on an AMG ‘Power and Passion’ event so they can learn how hoon about in it. Want ceramic brakes with that? That's another £7,090. AMG Exterior Carbon Package? £5,000 for you.
You know this is the best Mercedes on offer when one option costs as much as a Dacia Sandero. But hey, the SL63 AMG is also very expensive compared to its rivals and you see plenty of those on the road.
