What can be more exciting for people who always want to be at the center of attention than taking on the summer roads in an open-top car? Well, an open-top car that looks more or less like a gold nugget on wheels, that's what.
You all know the good old SL 63 from Mercedes. The roadster is a perfect fit for those people, and others too, because of the many things it has going for it: a name that dates back to the 1950s, the most modern of German technologies, and styling that will definitely make your drive on the local roads the highlight of the day for some folk.

All of this comes with a cost, of course, as the price for the car is set at $187,000. And that's for the entry-level model, as it will naturally go even higher the more things you add on, or the more exclusive the version you eye is.

If you really want to stand out in the crowd, you can go for something called the SL 63 Golden Coast. Fresh out of the Mercedes-AMG oven, the model will be one of the most limited versions around, with just 100 units to be made.

The Golden Coast is based on the SL 63 4MATIC+, and it was handled by Mercedes' Manufaktur personalization program. That means all of the stock mechanical bits are still in place, including the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that cranks out 585 horsepower.

The look of the roadster is however unique. On a normal day, Mercedes will give you the choice between no less than 15 body colors, ten of which are part of the Manufaktur offering. But the ten do not include something called kalahari gold magno, a hue that makes quite the impression on the Golden Coast.

The color is extensively used on the bodywork, including on the rims of the 21-inch AMG wheels, and it's contrasted by high gloss black and black chrome on select elements. Although they come in matte black to offer the perfect balance, the ten-spoke wheels have the kalahari color on their rims and hub caps.

The same golden hue is also used inside, on the seats, center console, and door panels, contrasted by generously used black.

The Golden Coast also benefits from a series of extras you normally have to choose yourself, and the come as the AMG Night Package Exterior, AMG Night Package Exterior II, and AMG Aerodynamic Package. They each add their respective upgrades to make the model a really loaded offering.

As said, only 100 of these Golden Coast roadsters will be made. Mercedes did not say anything about when they will become available, where, and for how much each of them will sell.
