McLaren’s latest supercar, the hybrid P1, is selling fast despite its steep $1.3 million (€1 million) price tag, with only 100 units out of the total 375 examples still available worldwide.
“We are ahead of our targets and we still have 500 hot sales prospects on our list,” a senior McLaren manager told Autocar. Most likely, the about 250 supercars already sold have gone to Europe, the United States and the Middle East.
As already mentioned, McLaren Automotive expects the P1, which was introduced at this year’s Geneva Auto Show, to be sold out by the end of the summer. Meanwhile, the company’s still testing the P1’s durability and even went to the Arctic Circle to ensure the LaFerrari rival is the “best driver’s car in the world”.
In case you missed it, McLaren launched the “Designed by Air” Interactive Experience earlier this week, which is meant to provide enthusiasts an insight into the aerodynamic technology that was used to optimize the P1’s bodyshape.
