The Ferrari Dino may not be the most beautiful and powerful sportscar built in Maranello, but it’s still one cool piece of history to own. But as with most classics (and Ferraris from that matter), they’re not cheap to buy and maintain. Probably this is why a lot of people use inexpensive vehicles to build replicas of famous road and race cars.
While some results are pretty good, like the Mad Max Interceptor or the Lambo Sesto Elemento we’ve seen earlier this year, others are plain ugly and have very few in common with the cars they’re trying to impersonate. To see what we mean, you can check out these awful Porsche 917 and Ford GT40 replicas.
Getting back to today’s story, a 1993 Mazda Miata owner decided to turn his small Japanese sportscar into a Ferrari Dino 246 GT. We have to admit it’s a bit less awful than previous Ferrari replicas we’ve seen, but there’s at least one detail that makes it very wrong - the engine is in the wrong place! To make thing funnier, he wants $29,000 for it on eBay. How "cute" is that?
