If you’re in the market for a barely driven GMC Hummer EV SUV, but you don’t want your run-of-the-mill specification, something like this 3X Omega Edition variant might just tickle your buying bone properly. It’s got 302 miles on the clock and came with a $140,000 MSRP. Sadly, it failed to sell at auction recently.
While production on the Hummer EV pickup started in November of 2021, the SUV variant didn’t get its time in the sun until early 2023, which means you’re a lot less likely to see one on the road than you are its truck sibling. I guess that’s worth noting.

In May of last year, GMC came out with the Omega Special Edition, in a bid to add more exclusivity to an already spectacular EV. The Omega Edition is based on the 3X trim, but adds the exclusive Neptune Blue Matte paint, the 18-inch beadlock-capable gloss black wheels with Carbon Flash rings, plus a few more goodies which we’ll mention in a second.

The owner of this vehicle, a dealership out of Chicopee, Massachusetts, decided not to accept a $120,000 bid for a vehicle that recently cost $140,295. Personally, I think it’s going to be tough for this Hummer EV SUV to fetch anything near MSRP, but what can you do?

Back to the specs, aside from the exclusive colorway, this EV boasts the Infinity Roof with four removable glass Sky Panels, a power-operated tailgate, LED headlights, fixed aluminum side steps, front and rear recovery hooks, plus a set of 305/70 Goodyear Wrangler tires for those previously mentioned alloys.

This also comes with the Extreme Off-Road package, which adds underbody cameras and rocker protectors with side steps. And yes, you do get the CrabWalk four-wheel steering system, which allows the rear wheels to turn up to 10-degrees so that you can move diagonally at low speeds. Could this feature ever come in handy in real world conditions? Presumably, yes. Under the right off-roading conditions.

In terms of interior amenities, you’re looking at Lunar Horizon leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, Super Cruise driver assistance, a Bose sound system, surround-view cameras, wireless phone charging, tri-zone automatic climate control, plus a 13.4” infotainment system with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As for performance, we're dealing with a total output of 830 horsepower going to all four wheels, which in turn allows for a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and a quarter mile time of roughly 13 seconds, which isn’t bad for something that weighs nearly twice as much as a conventional SUV.

Technically, the Omega Edition Hummer EV is a limited production model, with a hard cap at 1,108 units. Because of this fact, its value is higher than that of a “regular” Hummer EV. However, to combat what’s happening to used EVs on the second-hand market today, carmakers might want to come up with some hardcore limited production vehicles, where only a handful make it into production. Otherwise, values will keep plummeting.
