Like many other car manufacturers, Maserati found it difficult to say no to the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. As a result, it has announced its presence at the UK event next week with an extravagant lineup of vehicles.
One important model from the brand's past that's being celebrated at the Goodwood FoS is the MC12. The iconic ride came out twenty years ago, and the Trident brand is celebrating it with two limited editions of the modern-day MC20. These are called the Icona and Leggenda and were unveiled a couple of weeks ago.

According to Maserati, the MC20 Icona was inspired by the MC12 Stradale, whereas the MC20 Leggenda mirrors the MC12 GT1 Vitaphone racer's livery. Each model is capped at 20 units and features some exclusive touches. Both pack a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 that steams out 621 horsepower( 630 ps/463 kW) and sits in the middle of the car.

The MC12 sequel, which is the track-focused Versione Corse that debuted in 2006, will also be displayed in the Supercar Paddock. Visitors will get the rare chance to spot this automotive unicorn, whose production run included only 12 copies and one prototype. The vehicle uses a 755-horsepower V12 engine and will sit under the spotlight for the entire four-day festival.

Maserati says it will up the Goodwood ante with the GranCabrio Folgore. This brand-new battery-electric model will make its UK debut during the event and is the third ride in the brand's lineup to feature an electron-sipping powertrain. It's also the world's first electric four-seater open-top vehicle, and it's said to offer a "rewarding driving experience" and "abundant luxury for up to four passengers."

Unveiled a few months ago, the new GranCabrio Folgore is easily recognizable as a Maserati. It has a striking exterior design, follows in the footsteps of its ICE-powered counterpart, and features a power-retractable soft top that takes 14 seconds to lower at speeds up to 31 mph (50 kph). Customers can specify it in various exterior colors and will also enjoy plenty of gear.

From the 20- or 21-inch alloys, which can be wrapped in low-rolling resistance tires, to the 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster, 8.8-inch comfort display, 12.3-inch infotainment, heated steering wheel with a flat-bottom styling and brushed aluminum paddle shifters, neck warmer, digital clock, and a premium audio system, everything is on deck, including available extensive customization.

A 92.5 kWh battery drives the three electric motors, two located at the rear and one at the front. The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore enjoys 818 hp (830 ps/610 kW) and 996 pound-foot (1,350 Nm) of torque, taking a mere 2.8 seconds to accelerate to 62 mph (100 kph) and topping out at 180 mph (290 kph). The WLTP-rated range sits between 260 and 278 miles (419-447 km).
