The luxury car, SUV, and truck modification experts from Brand, Germany, have done it again. Mansory now has a one-of-one G 63 that looks like nothing else on planet Earth: a gold bar fitted with wheels.
I don't know if we should laugh or cry at the sight of this one-of-one Mansory P900 EWB Gold Edition. But in a world where the out-of-this-world Tesla Cybertruck looks like rose mirror gold riding in the 30s, we guess that not even the sky is the limit anymore – as long as you have the cash to afford what your imagination has in store.
For example, Mansory – a tuning firm from Germany – has long been known among automotive enthusiasts as the place where all your fantasies and everyone else's nightmares can easily come true. They have numerous examples to attest to that, and the latest creation just feels like the icing on the cake – all done with 24-karat gold!
Curiously, Mansory hasn't chosen the ultra-luxurious Rolls-Royce Cullinan or the V12-powered Ferrari Purosangue or the 789-horsepower electrified Lamborghini Urus SE as its base of mega-rich operations. Instead, they did it using a Mercedes-Benz G-Class off-road SUV or, more precisely, the V8-toting Mercedes-AMG G 63 variant. It's ironic how a model created initially for military use has become a veritable symbol of luxury and opulence. Also, it's very far removed from its trail-hunter capabilities, right? After all, not even a sheik would risk damaging this one-of-one example in the wilderness; we can bet.
Anyway, what we're looking at is not a gold bar on wheels but a Mansory P900 EWB Gold Edition, in translation, Mansory's take on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 off-roader, complete with mechanical upgrades and a special 20-cm extended wheelbase with individual rear seats plus bespoke rear-hinged coach doors with a soft-close mechanism in the rear. The company promises that its P900 EWB Gold Edition will help the owner "step into glamorous golden luxury," with much more to come.
Until then, we already know this isn't your usual Mercedes-AMG G 63 because the tuning and customization specialist has taken it to P900 levels – that obviously means 900 horsepower and no less than 1,200 Nm or 885 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel the slab of gold on wheels to 100 kph (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds and to a maximum speed of 250 kph (155 mph). Obviously, this behemoth isn't for the sand dunes or rocky terrains anymore.
Instead, it's a defiant mall crawler, for sure, complete with skinny tires shod around massive alloy wheels that match the golden hue of the exterior, lots of aerodynamic additions that probably can't help with the fact that it's a brick on wheels, side exhausts dressed in gold, and an interior that looks like a private jet's cabin. So, do you like it or not?
