Manhole covers which do not have their covers properly fastened are a real menace to all drivers. You could be fooled into thinking that it is secure, when in actual fact, it is not, and if you are carrying any sort of speed, it will send your car flying, possibly onto its roof.
It has happened before, in Russia, when a Land Rover Freelander did a spectacular summersault onto its roof, and now it has happened again. This time, the car didn`t flip completely, but it looks to have been severely damaged, on its underside, as sparks fly from its broken suspension components as it hits the ground, after being airborne for a surprisingly long time.
The moral? Whenever you see a manhole cover, on an unfamiliar stretch of road, go around it just in case, and you will possibly prevent very expensive repair operations, just by doing that.
