The owner of a superb, red 2006 Ford Mustang GT Convertible took his car to a shop to get it fixed. When he left, he deactivated traction control. What followed brought him instant backlash on the internet.
The 2006 Ford Mustang GT Convertible is all custom. The owner got new wheels with a Y-spoke design in a black finish to contrast the red brake calipers and red body paint. He also put on custom badges and fitted a rearview camera into the rear one.

He cut into it and welded to get the car he wanted. He reworked the suspension for better handling and road behavior and the dual exhaust for more drama. He took it to the shop to fix it. The exhaust tips were bent, so the car got new black ones to match the wheels and the taillights grille.

When the right pedal is pushed and the needle of the rev better hits 5,000 pm, the soundtrack that comes out can wake up an entire neighborhood and get the owner some hate along the way to the track. This thing is loud!

That sound is churned out by the 280 (4.6-liter) V8 engine, which pumps out 300 horsepower (304 metric horsepower) and 320 pound-feet (434 Newton meters) of torque. A five-speed manual puts the power down through the rear wheels. The 300 horsepower and the rear-wheel drive are probably too much for some drivers.

The owner comes to pick up his muscle car when it's ready and takes it for a spin. The shop installs a camera on the vehicle, so that they can upload footage of the first ride to YouTube.

The Mustang slides a bit, but the owner seems to know what he's doing, so, minutes later, he returns to the shop to thank everyone. He says this second outing is Takeoff 2.0.

But the takeoff apparently did not go according to plan. He pressed the throttle pedal a bit too hard and too soon. The car almost took off, slid off the pavement, and spun in the dust on the side of the road five seconds after it left the shop driveway.

Luckily, it did not hit anything, and nobody was injured. It just raised a cloud of dust and the owner got a serious scare. The footage shot from the camera installed at the back of the car shows how it went off the road, between two poles, and avoided crashing into other cars parked in the area.

He returned to the shop to tell his side of the story. He had deactivated traction control. He knows he made a mistake, so now, he is all right with the shop team uploading the video to YouTube.

He is ready to face the backlash. And he is getting plenty of that. "Mustangs never fail to live up to the stereotype," a user used to Mustang crash news writes. "Typical Mustang driver. They never fail to disappoint," someone else adds.

But there are also users who praise him for his courage to allow the video online. "He took it like a champ," a YouTube user says, while another one explains: "If you have never had the back end of a Mustang snap out, you're not driving hard enough."

On Saturday, we reported about a driver driving too hard. He lost control, the car went off the road, took down a tree, and crashed into a parked Ford F-150. It was a bad day for Fords, apparently.
