Apple has a super-loyal user base, and few people who bought an iPhone are willing to give up on it and switch to Android.
At the same time, iPhones are incredibly popular among teens and other age groups, and some of those who want a new-generation model are willing to do almost anything to get their hands on their precious. And when they eventually do, they're ready to do anything to keep it safe and secure.

It happened recently with a woman from Nigeria whose iPhone was broken by her boyfriend.

While the story is a bit sketchy and lacks many details, it went viral this week because the woman found an unusual way to set things straight between her and his boyfriend after the unfortunate event. Because the man broke down her iPhone, she decided to set this car on fire.

Photos of the aftermath show it (the car, not the phone) almost wrecked, with fire damage in the engine bay and on the side. One photo suggests the cabin was also set on fire, but we're not getting a look inside the car.

The images that are now viral online aren't the best either, so take everything with a healthy pinch of salt for now.

If true, the man lost a Lexus, but the woman lost an iPhone 14 Pro Max. It was the flagship model in the iPhone 14 lineup, as the Pro Max was the best you could get in terms of new iPhones when this generation launched two years ago. The price of an iPhone 14 Pro Max was a little over $1K, depending on how much storage it offered, but it's safe to say that Lexus, despite not being a new-generation model, is a "bit" more expensive. I can't imagine what the woman would have been up to if the broken-down smartphone was a latest-generation iPhone (the 15 Pro Max), but it's probably safe to assume the man would have needed a new place to sleep, clothes, and furniture.

The love for iPhones has no limits, but probably the most unexpected bit in the whole story is that the smartphone was a gift from the man to the woman. In other words, he bought the iPhone for her, so somehow and without even realizing, he caused the whole thing by his own hand.

It'd be interesting to get more information on this unusual revenge, but what intrigues me the most is how the man broke down the iPhone and how damaged it was. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the woman set his car on fire because of a cracked screen. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
