There are many things involved in building a deluxe camper van. By my definition, it has to have an efficient layout, striking aesthetics, and robust utility systems, among other things. The rig I'm checking out today ticks all these boxes, allowing you to travel in comfort and style.
What we have here is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter camper van with a 170" wheelbase. It was created by Tiny Planet, a Rancho Cordova, California-based company specializing in "van conversions for pursuing bliss."

What sets their rigs apart are the voguish, finely designed interiors that are packed with creature comforts. We've covered some of their builds here on autoevolution, and we were impressed by the quality of the company's craftsmanship.

This tiny home on wheels is based on the company's "Bamboo" design. However, it was made for a customer and has some personalized features that they asked for. As usual, I'll start the tour with the exterior.

The Sprinter van is finished in light gray paint with a black lower trim. What's more, it seems to be an AWD, and it also might have a suspension upgrade. I say "might" because Tiny Planet didn't share any details about it, but the van looks ready to go off the beaten path.

You'll notice plenty of exterior upgrades on this van. On the sides, the builders installed flares designed to increase the interior bedroom space – each has bunk windows. Moreover, a massive awning on the passenger side provides plenty of protection from the weather.

At the rear, you'll discover a spare tire carrier, an aluminum storage box, and a rack that can carry two bikes. However, the best exterior part of this rig is the roof. Climb on top of the vehicle, and you'll notice that about half of the roof is covered with artificial glass, serving as a tiny lawn.

But here's the cool part: to maximize solar capacity, one of the panels has artificial glass on the bottom part, and it can be flipped on the other side to serve as a sun chair and create more lounging room. It's a simple yet very clever idea. By the way, the solar panels have a total capacity of 600 W.

Step inside, and you'll be taken aback by the stunning design. This van's customer opted for a bamboo look, with a slatted bamboo ceiling and bamboo cabinetry, complemented by white accents (for the walls and countertops) and natural finishes.

My favorite aesthetic detail is a Kingly slare natural stone veneer. Tiny Planet used it for the kitchen backsplash and for the bathroom, covering its three walls with it. It perfectly completes the living space's look, bringing the design to a luxurious level.

There are also plenty of lights inside, including LED strips integrated into the ceiling, giving it a modern aesthetic. You can change the colors of the lights – so, if you're bored of the standard design (although I find it hard to believe that that will happen), you can change the color of most of the lights in the living space, giving it a slightly different look.

The interior has an open layout, meaning the driver's cabin isn't separated from the rest of the interior. Tiny Planet kept privacy in mind by fitting a large curtain that will block off light coming from the driver's cabin.

Dead ahead of the entrance, you'll discover the seating area. It consists of a sizeable bench and a surprisingly large swivel table. Moreover, the driver's and passenger seats can be swiveled to become part of the seating area.

Like in most camper vans, the bench hides storage spots. There are two drawers, but the larger one has a cushion insert, so it can be used to rest your legs regardless of where you sit down in this area. Other notable storage spots around are a bookshelf, a cabinet above the seating area, and a large headliner shelf.

Next, we have the kitchen equipped with all the essentials you need to cook delicious meals. It features a huge countertop, a flip-up table if you need additional meal-prepping space, a tiny yet deep sink, a dual-burner induction stove, and a microwave/air fryer.

Regarding storage, Tiny Planet ensured you'll have all the space you need to store utensils, dry goods, and more. The builders devised a pull-out pantry, multiple drawers underneath the countertop, and three big overhead cabinets.

One very useful feature in the kitchen is a magnetic rack mounted underneath one of the overhead cabinets, allowing you to store knives or other utensils out of the way. Moreover, the rig's control panel is integrated into the stone backsplash. It comprises a touchscreen controller for floor heating, a controller for the A/C, a battery monitor, and a gauge for the freshwater tank.

Since I talked about utilities, let me tell you exactly how well-equipped this camper van is. It has an under-mounted Cruisencomfort A/C and a Timberline hydronic heating system.

The latter provides floor heating as well as heater air and water. Although floor heating is offered as quite an expensive extra in Tiny Planet's conversions, all the customers get it since it's such a useful feature.

Opposite the kitchen, Tiny Planet devised a massive wet bathroom. It boasts stone walls, as I mentioned earlier, a slide-out urine-separating toilet, and a water-efficient shower head that uses just 0.4 gallons (1.5 liters) of water per minute. What's more, next to the bathroom, you'll discover a cabinet with a 12 V fridge on top.

Finally, the bedroom occupies the rear part of the interior. You can use a kitchen drawer as a step to get into the queen-size bed. To make the space more versatile, the bed can be transformed into a couch by lifting one of its two base panels. So, you can face outside or inside the van, depending on which panel you raise and use as a backrest. Other notable bedroom features are two overhead cabinets and a large skylight.

The bed sits so high up to make room for a garage underneath. The customer wanted extra space for bikes, so Tiny Planet installed a slide-out tray that holds two more bikes. Moreover, the customer has the option of lowering the bed if they don't bring the bikes along.

The utility systems occupy the sides of the garage. On the right, you'll find a very capable Victron electrical system. Its highlights are 800 Ah batteries, a 3,000 W inverter/charger, two DC-DC chargers, and a solar charge controller connected to the 600 W solar panels on the rig. This setup offers enough juice for worry-free off-grid travel.

The opposite side is taken up by the hydronic heating system and the plumbing system that has a massive 80-gallon (303-liter) freshwater tank, a water pump, and other components. Furthermore, the under-mounted greywater system is insulated and heated, making it possible for you to adventure in very cold environments.

As you can expect, this camper van costs a small fortune. We don't know how much the customer paid for this rig, but Tiny Planet shared that this type of build would go for around $140,000 to $150,000 (€130,795 to €140,137). This one has some extras compared to what Tiny Planet offers as standard, such as the exterior accessories or the additional freshwater capacity, so you can expect the price to be a bit higher than $150K.

I know that sounds like a lot, but when you consider how stylish and practical this mobile home is, I feel like it's a fair price - it's essentially a deluxe apartment on wheels that will comfortably accommodate you on off-road and off-grid adventures.

Keep in mind that some builds that go for more than $200,000 (€186,850) aren't as well-equipped and good-looking as this one. You can learn more about Tiny Planet and its products and services on the company's website.
