Described by its creators, Taiwan-based manufacturer Yulon, as a wonder on wheels, the Luxgen7 MPV is now getting ready to enter the global market, after managing to impress the customers in the home turf.
Currently produced and sold in Taiwan, the Luxgen7 may get a second production site, if we are to judge by the rumors going around. According to Inside Line, Yulon is considering manufacturing the model at the Derways in Russia, from where to be launched on the Russian market, and possibly elsewhere as well.
For Russia, says the report, the Luxgen7 will get a few upgrades, starting with the addition of six airbags, climate control, power steering, night vision and a road-markings detection system. The price for the model in the new market is said to be of around $35,000.
The plant targeted to become the birth place of the model currently manufacturers several Chinese made vehicles, including two Lifan models and the Geely MK. Currently, the capacity of the factory stands at 100,000 vehicles each year. The production target for the Luxgen7 was not announced by the insiders.
Powered by both a gasoline engine and an electric drive, the Luxgen7 comes equipped in Taiwan with an intelligent 10-mode, 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting function. A 3-mode 4WD system can adjust engine torque depending on the road condition and driver input.
Standard equipment on the model includes dual front SRS airbags, ABS Antilock Braking System, BAS Braking Assistance System, EBD Electronic Brake Distribution system, ESC Electronic Stability Control and TCS Traction Control System.
