Jorge Lorenzo confirms his excellent form this weekend, as he dominates authoritatively the second practice outing at Motorland Aragon. He improved his lap times significantly over the morning session, getting very close to Marquez' Best Pole from last year.
The Cobra lapped around Motorland in 1’47.517, while the fastest rider ever at this circuit was Marc Marquez, who set a 1'47.187 pole last year. In FP2, however, the current World Champion was only fifth-fastest, even being 4 hundredths slower than his teammate Dani Pedrosa, who ended up in fourth.

Even if Lorenzo charged ahead of the pack in the afternoon, he was not exactly alone. His fiercest rival for the 2015 title and at the same time his teammate Valentino Rossi was second, thought almost 7 tenths slower. This shows that Rossi seems to have what it takes not to miss Lorenzo from his sight in the Sunday race, and this is not the happiest news for the Mallorcan.

Bradley Smith was third and completed an all-Yamaha top three, 4 hundredths of a second faster than Pedrosa. Redding, who was fifth in the morning dropped to 12th. The FP2 top ten was completed by Pol Espargaro in the 6th place, followed by his brother Aleix and three Ducati riders: Dovizioso and Iannone for the factory team and Petrucci for the satellite Pramac.

Stefan Bradl is 19th after this Friday practice sessions, while his Aprilia teammate Bautista is 15th. Nice to see Toni Elias no longer being the last rider on the Aragon track, also improving his time dramatically. The only rider who was slower in FP2 than in the first practice was Karel Abraham.

MptpGP FP3 takes place tomorrow morning at 9:55 am local time, with Q1 and Q2 scheduled for 14:10 and 14:35, respectively.
