We spoke in great detail about the 'new' Lexus LS, and we must admit we weren’t really that impressed with what it has to offer over its predecessor - if a pre-facelift car can even be called that. While they may have improved it in terms of styling, and a few minor interior upgrades, the main addition, we say, is the F Sport variant.
Now, Lexus are trying to sell us the LS by giving us a quick history lesson about how the LS was born. However, calling it the best luxury car in the world (many times, in fact) is a bit far fetched and rather optimistic. It is most certainly not the best luxury car in the world - it may have been, if it were an all-new offering, but as just a through facelift, not so much.
Has this ‘new’ LS convinced you? We are still waiting for a chance to drive the F Sport, but until then, our opinion on the car is reserved. We like the new grille, but so far, that’s about it. They invested $1-billion in its development, but surely none of that went to the styling department - the car looks like any big Toyota, whereas the new GS (an all-new offering, this time) is so much better.
