Lexus really has turned a new leaf, thanks two more aggressively design cars and new hybrid drivetrains. However, their lineup is all pretty much the same as it used to be. That's about to change next year, when Lexus finally offers a new kind of vehicle, the NX.
Following a trend for downsizing Sports Activity Vehicles, the NX will slot just under the RX and should be cheaper to buy. We've already seen a the vehicle as a concept car at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, but now they're showing it again in Tokyo Motor Show.

What's new is that the new engine for compact vehicles is also getting previewed. The 200t unit that will likely go into everything from the IS to the CT and of course the NX is being described as "a newly-developed 2.0-liter turbo engine for guaranteed power and improved fuel economy."

We think the other powertrain going into the NX, we believe, is the 300h system, similar to that of a IS.

As far as dimensions are concerned, the LF-NX concept, which is going into production pretty much as-is, is 182.7 inches long (4.64 meters). That makes it almost exactly the size of a BMW X3.

There are subtle differences between this turbo model and the previous concept, most noticeably the front spoiler and a lowered stance.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
